Accessibility Statement

Garage Playbook's commitment to an accessible website, the standards we follow, known limitations, and how to request help.

Garage Playbook is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities and people who use assistive technologies. Planning a better garage should be open to everyone.

Our standard

We design and test toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. This is the benchmark referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice’s guidance under the Americans with Disabilities Act, by Canadian accessibility laws such as the Accessible Canada Act and Ontario’s AODA, and by the European Accessibility Act (EN 301 549).

What we do

  • Semantic HTML with a logical heading structure and page landmarks.
  • A “Skip to content” link and fully keyboard-operable navigation, menus, forms, and calculators, with visible focus indicators.
  • Calculator inputs with visible labels and units, and results announced to screen readers when they update.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images and empty alternatives for decorative ones.
  • Color contrast that meets or exceeds WCAG AA, and information never conveyed by color alone.
  • Text that can be resized to 200 percent and layouts that reflow on small screens without horizontal scrolling.
  • Respect for the “reduced motion” setting on your device.
  • Descriptive link text and form error messages.
  • Printable checklists.

Known limitations

  • Some third-party content we link to or embed, such as merchant websites or videos, is outside our control and may not meet the same standards.
  • Older articles may occasionally have images without ideal descriptions; we fix these as we find them.

Continuous improvement

We review accessibility when we add features, test with keyboard-only navigation and screen readers, and use automated checks. This statement was last reviewed on the date below.
